NASA Appropriations threatened now!

From Jeffrey Liss:

The NASA Budget markup -- i.e., cuts, especially in the Moon-Mars program -- made by the Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development, and Independent Agencies Subcommittee will be working its way up to the full Appropriations Committee pretty soon. Below is a listing of Committee members.

I have an appointment in a couple of weeks with my own Congressman, who sits on that Committee. May I suggest that anyone who is in the District of one of these members send a strong letter asking that NASA be given the full funding requested, for all the reasons you know so well -- but especially so we at least begin to go down the right path -- and also request a personal appointment at the Representative's office in the home District.

Gallup shows support for Moon-Mars!

A new poll by the Gallup organization, coordinated by the Space Foundation and sponsored by the Coalition for Space Exploration, shows that a substantial majority of the American people support the new vision for space exploration. This included a majority of Republicans (79%) and Democrats (60%) who support such an exploration plan. Two thirds of those surveyed supported continued or increased NASA budget levels.
