Welcome to the
Oregon L5 Society!
Over a Quarter Century of Space Advocacy!

We're creating a spacefaring civilization . . .

Bryce and Cheryl
Members of the Oregon L5 Society, chapter of the National Space Society, are working to bring about the day when humans will establish communities beyond the Earth. Oregon L5 has been active since 1979, educating the public about space, training Young Astronauts and Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, and conducting space-related research.

Oregon Moonbase
Our current projects include public outreach, Lunar and Martian photo data analysis, space policy activism, research concerning lava tube caves on the Moon and Mars, building models of possible space bases and habitats in Second Life virtual reality, and participation in public and professional conferences on space research and development.

Leading organizations in science education, industry, and government have all supported projects undertaken by this chapter, including the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), Boeing Aerospace, Rockwell, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

But the support we really need is yours! It is through active membership that we've accomplished what we have, and it is your support which will carry us on to humanity's future in space. Everything that people do here on Earth will need doing out in space. That means we're looking for you to contribute whatever skills you may have - it's not all rocket science. Take charge of the space program by joining citizens from all walks of life who are showing their support. Click Here to visit and explore the Oregon L5 Society!
