A community of Space and Astronomy groups and individuals joining forces to promote Space Exploration ….is proud to present
In this illustrated talk, Dr. Tyson, who was one of the nine
commissioners appointed by President Bush to advise on how
to implement the new White House space vision, will describe
the social and political climate that led to America's space
exploration initiative. Dr.Tyson will follow with an account of
the short and long-term consequences of this plan to NASA
and its science portfolio. Subjects include international
cooperation, the role of prize money to promote innovation,
propulsion initiatives, the role of private industry, and the
perennial debate of humans versus robotic exploration.
Dr. Tyson will be available for two hours, allowing plenty of
time at the end for questions and open discussion.
