Project HALO Status Report

Rocket Motor Test Day #14

Held on Saturday, August 23, 1997 at the HALO Rocket Motor Test Facility

The following text was taken, with permission, from an article by Ronnie Lajoie, which was published in the September-October 1997 issue of the Southeastern Space Supporter, newsletter of HAL5.

On Saturday, August 23, the HALO team held its 14th motor test firing day.  Two motors were successfully fired, but the burns were not exactly as had been hoped.  On the first, an aluminum cap on the new injector melted and allowed too much oxidizer to flow.  On the second motor firing, a new injector was tried but had not been sized properly for this motor.  The next motor test firing is scheduled for November 2.
